A couple weekend's ago I went on a young adult retreat with my church. That was one of the best decisions I could have made while here in New Zealand. Living in close quarters for a couple of days partaking in the same activities has a way of bringing people closer together. I feel like I really got to know some of the other young adults in my church. We had great conversations (some that went late into the night). We went tramping around the base of a small mountain. We spent some time on the beach. I learned how to play touch rugby (really frustrating when you're used to playing touch football). We played a ton of card games. Watched some movies. And of course spent some time in the Word reading Galatians and talking about law verses grace. It was wonderful deepening friendships.
Now, as I head to my weekly young adult small group, I feel more comfortable talking with people, and we know more about what's going on in each other's life. Also, it's fun sharing cultural differences between America and New Zealand (and sometimes Canada). I'm glad people feel comforable about asking me things they don't quite understand about the US, and I in turn ask them things about their culture. I want to keep in touch with many of my friends here in NZ even after I leave. It's good having friends!

Obviously I haven't been good about blogging while in Korea. I was
incredibly busy and I generally stopped blogging or journaling altogether.
